Thread: need help with stirring people up to good works

i have been getting a group together once a month to get together and discuss evangelism. and with the group here that checks this site out there are many great minds that might be able to help me. i was hoping to get ideas on topics or lessons or just food for thought from you guys that i might be able to use for a monthly email newsletter that i send out to the group to encourage them to evangelize and keep it on their mind. i have been doing this for several months now and have run out of ideas. thanks to all, dave

What are you doing presently? One of the most simple things is to give a business card with their name, number and the congregation's name number, times, etc.

Also managing those approached is something rarely done. If the names and information is gathered and managed in a database such as an Outlook address book, they can be emailed with newsletters, lessons, invitations etc to gospel meetings etc.

By giving a card, it is a way to take advantage of a spur of the moment opportunity or if there is not enough time to discuss things further at the time..such as at an airport terminal, doing business, on the street.

Discussing the model of evangelism is good too...Paul went where they people where..the market etc. We can do the same. Find ops to speak to people when shopping. We talk to people all the time..but we let our moments pass. IF the person is far away from their congregation and they cant attend and do not know of the congregations locations, get their information and send them the congregation's info near them, OR if there is a link to this site, we can study online with them and find them a congregation.

Emphasize being a bible purist because if we do, everyone can be good and equal. People really respond to that these days since they often see religion as questionable since they know men add things to it.. and everyone thinks that theirs is the right way...Just show we are all about the origional church pattern and doctrine and not of men. If we claim Christ and the God of the bible..knowing that we are judged by the Word itself, then if we all followed the bible only, there will be no more confusion.

These are just some thoughts...

we deal a lot with the fishers of men method. but also are exploring other methods. this is some great info by the way. i do the business card thing personally but have not even thought to suggest it to the group. anybody else with any ideas for stuff to put in my evangelism newsletter. or better still, does anyone know of a ongoing newsletter that i could subscribe to and get ideas from that. thanks again, dave
