THE WORK WE WANT TO DO, AND WHY

Today there is confusion on every hand when we began an attempt to make sense of all the religious confusion that is prevalent. For a long time the problems to understanding God’s Written Word (i.e. the Bible) has troubled me immensely. As a result of this troubled mind we have now launched a medium through which we may be able to share our views about many aspects of Biblical truth. Indeed, we fully realize that there will be voices that have no desire to look further than their current circumstance, there will be some who are so entrenched in error that they cannot see (i.e. blind guides of the blind—cf. Matthew 23:16-24, “16 Woe to you, blind guides, who say,' Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obliged to perform it.' 17 Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold? 18 And, 'Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is obliged to perform it.' 19 Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift? 20 Therefore he who swears by the altar, swears by it and by all things on it. 21 He who swears by the temple swears by it and by Him who dwells in it. 22 And he, who swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits on it. 23 "Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrite for you pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. 24 Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel” (NKJV)

WE WANT TO HELP, TO ENLIGHTEN, TO BE A LIGHT IN DARKNESS, TO BE THE SALT OF THE EARTH

Christians are encouraged to “go teach” (Matthew 28:18-20), Christians are told by Paul to “teach others the things that he has taught” (2 Timothy 2:2), this, we want to do. We want to help spread the truth of God; our reasoning is from God’s Written Word in such places as John 8:31-36, “31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in my word, you are my disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." 33 They answered Him," We are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can you say, 'You will be made free'?" 34 Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

The reason for our interest in encouraging Christians to be faithful as well as seeking to introduce those not Christians to Jesus Christ is our honest belief that only those that belong to the Body of Christ will be saved in the last day, cf. Ephesians 5:22-24, “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 for the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything”
SHOULD WE BE INTERESTED IN OTHERS?

Since the Bible does say that only those in the Body (i.e., the church) will be saved from the destruction that is coming, we are concerned. cf. Ephesians 11:17-23 ...
17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church , 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all” (NKJV).

Do you understand our concern for you and your eternal destiny? Surely you will grant us a few minutes of your time as you study with us each week these important issues as we present them on the pages of “CONSIDER MAGAZINE.”

2 Timothy 2:15-16, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (NKJV).

I tried to look up your magazine and I found one that is published by students of the University of Michigan. Any suggestions?
