      Very persuasive indeed. Even more fundamentally, I had always been taught that "conversion" stood in the way of salvation, Matt. 13:15, Matt. 18:3, Luke 22:32, Acts 3:19, Acts 15:3, James 5:19-20, with baptism being the culmination of the "new birth", John 3:5.This certainly harmonizes with the above cited passages like Mark 16:16.
