Humanism focuses attention on self; it is the core of our modern day corruption and rejection of all that is good and right. It dethrones God and puts the supreme importance on man. Priority is given to how one “feels” rather than a “thus saith the Lord.” Some years ago a local radio station was fond of proclaiming, “Making you feel good, because feeling good is what it is all about.” Humanism has invaded the classroom, the halls of Congress, and had extended its evil intentions and purposes into the privacy of the womb. The tentacles of this godless philosophy have captured the media, the educational elite, and the masses of an unsuspecting and ignorant electorate. Politicians are elected on what they can give “me” - entitlements, benefits, healthcare, retirement – if a politician does not provide the pork he is sent packing,

    Praising Jehovah
    Introduction:
Praising the Lord should be one of the most natural things in the world. Our attitude needs to be that of David in Psalms 34:1-3. David invites the humble to join with him in expressing their adoration of the Lord.
The aim of this lesson is to examine the various Hebrew words translated “praise” and “worship” in the Old Testament.
    Body:
    I. Bow Down

    • Psalms 34:1 “I will bless the Lord at all times.” Give God reverence as an act of adoration.

    I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth,

    • Psalms 100:3-5 Be aware of God’s presence and His goodness.

    “SUPER SUNDAY”

    By Jeff Grimes

This Sunday marks the 45th Super Bowl. The Green Bay Packers verses the Pittsburg Steelers. There will be Super Bowl parties; extreme tailgating; Food, Fun, “Wining and Dinning.” It will be a day of ecstasy for Pro Football enthusiast and pundits; TV commercials costing in the millions of dollars. Many religious groups will restructure their “worship” around the game. According to the web site of the First Baptist church in Andalusia a few years ago, they hosted a Super Bowl party from 5 pm until 9 pm. The following quote was from their “pastor” on the web site. This Sunday night we will host our church-wide Super Bowl party. This will be a great time to gather in our new Student Ministry Building, worship our Lord, fellowship, and enjoy the big game TOGETHER. Let me encourage us to use this evening as an opportunity to invite prospects to our church. This night will be a relaxed atmosphere and a perfect setting for us ...

    Four Types Of Worship

Here is an important truth that is hard for some people to hear: NOT ALL WORSHIP IS PLEASING TO GOD. Notice how the Bible proves this true:

    • Cain: Genesis 4:5
    • Nadab & Abihu: Leviticus 10:1-3
    • The Corinthian Congregation: 1 Corinthians 11:17-22

In each of these examples we are shown that the worship that was offered was found by God to be unacceptable. What is not debated is that those involved worshiped. What is clear however, is that the worship they offered was not pleasing to God and was rejected. What is true of these individual in the past is also true for people today. The Bible teaches us that God does not leave us in the dark when it comes to what is acceptable and unacceptable in the area of worship.

    I. Unacceptable Worship
    A. Vain Worship

    • Matthew 15:7-9
    • Worship that is according to the traditions of man.

    B. Will Worship
